First Ascent Fleece
Late post, I wrote this last week:
What a disappointing morning! It was finally chilly enough in Denver to throw on my new fleece by First Ascent. I went for a short bike ride-it has incredible wind breaking characteristics. I kept it on for the day, going for coffee with some friends & running a few errands. I was sitting in my chair toying with the elastic drawstring in my pocket when I felt the plastic end break. Check out the picture. This is not the same end as the zippers on the pockets. They are much more robust. This end is removable, which will make it easier to replace.

Broken Pullstring End
That’s a nice shirt Keith, haven’t seen it before. Are you holding out on us???
Hi, Keith.
Thanks for supporting First Ascent and picking up one of our Point Success Jackets. I read your post and am writing to send along my apologies on behalf of our product and QA team.
We have incredibly high quality standards, backed notably by our Guarantee, which states that “Every item we sell will give you complete satisfaction or you may return it for a full refund.”
I’m disappointed that the plastic bead on the end of the shock cord failed, and I’d like to offer to send you a new jacket or compensate you for the cost of the repair. While we do our best to ensure mistakes like these don’t happen in the field, sometimes things fall through even the most rigorous processes. So we’d like to make it up to you.
Apart from the plastic bead failing, I hope you love your jacket. Ed brought two of these on our recent Return to Everest Expedition because he loves them so much!
Send an e-mail message to “customerservice (at) csc.eddiebauer.com,” mention my name and your posting, and let me know how we can help make sure we get the problem fixed. Or e-mail me directly. I think you can get my address from this posting.
Warmest regards,
Andrew Turner

Hey PJ, if you registered at Gravitar you would have an avatar next to your post. Huh, where have I heard that before?
